Sorry that I haven't blogged In a few days. I finally took my lazy butt back to work on Saturday and my in laws came in town yesterday. As much as it saddens me to be a scoch slow at work these last few weeks, I have mega loved being home with the little man. I love to do the hair, but I really love to play the wii, make cupcakes, and yes, even clean house, craziness I know! Considering it's 107 degrees outside, I'm not left with many entertaining indoor options.
Opa and Oma, Joey's parents Joe and Debbie, came for a quick two day jaunt on their way to Texas to visit Joey's uncle who's having surgery; and of course to visit Joey's grandma, Nena, and Aunt Patti. They're so sweet to me and of course they love to spend time with Riley. It's so cute to have Oma singing silly songs to Riley. And of course they always spoil the poo out of us.
Well I've been obsessed with getting Riley a Sophie since I saw Hannah Masciave chewing on hers. And then Amy got one for Miles Jonas, (my nickname for her adorable son due to his JoBro worthy hair :)). And since Riley has been drooling like niagra falls, gagging himself continuously by shoving his whole fist in his mouth, and chewing on anything he can get his little paws on, I hoped the Sophie would be the magic answer. After about 20 minutes of fiendishly searching the aisles of Babies R Us for the adorable little giraffe, when just a few weeks ago there were dozens on an end cap :(, we finally found a rogue Sophie box in the middle of the stuffed animal section. Success! (Joey's mom said God saved that one for Riley ;))He broke it in at dinner tonight, and he did like gnawing on it and sucking the ear. I think once he figures out how to maneuver it correctly into his mouth without choking himself, we'll be in like flynn! Oma also got us a Bumbo Play Tray, in case Dr. Carrie green lights cereal at next week's 4 month check up appointment (??). Always a fun time to be had at Babies R Us!!!
So upon my return home from work on Saturday, I saw the P90X box leaning up against our front door. I am filled with shame that my initial instinct was to hide it in the back seat of my car and toss it in the dumpsters at work, heehee ;). But I didn't, boo; mainly because it's costing us 3 easy payments of $39.95. With no intention to start it until the in laws leave and my parents come this weekend, (shameful procrastination I know), I know my "baby weight" excuses and dispicable eating habits will be coming to an end.
On the one hand I can't wait to get back to my old body, (I'd actually love to get back my body circa 1999, which is probably impossible considering I was 18 :)), on the other hand I have begun a saucy love affair with ice cream, yes, ice cream; DELICIOUS!! You know you have a problem when you can recite all of the flavors of Ben and Jerry's and list each flavor's ingredients, yikes! Or when you're up on all of the new or limited edition flavors and you feel the need to let numerous people in on the "secret" of their existence. (P.S. I do feel obligated to let you know that I had the new key lime deliciousness from Cold Stone tonight. It was amazing!) And in case you wanted or needed to know my fav Ben and Jerry's is Karmel Sutra and my fav Haagen Daaz is the limited edition Bananas Foster, nooch!
I know once we get rockin' on a good eating plan and this kick "my" ass workout regime, I'll feel better, and hopefully look better. You can only claim "baby weight" for so long. I know it's only been 4 months so I'm still ok. I just don't want to be claiming "baby weight" as Riley's entering high school :) I have about another week before I need you to wish me luck, but if you think of it, maybe eat a little or a lot of ice cream this week in honor of the ending of my creamy, sweet, and succulent love affair. Too-da-loo for now. Next time we'll talk 'Babywise' and haters, yikes bikes!
