My neck loves it!

So yesterday was day 1 of our P90X odyssey. It was a rough day to start for me because Riley had been up almost every hour on the hour the night before, and then I worked all day until 7:30pm, so I was pooped! But considering how much I was dreading it all day, (I was seriously contemplating running away from home to avoid the workout ;)), I am really glad we did it!

P90X is no joke! Especially if you haven't worked out seriously in probably almost a year like me. But I'm so glad Joey and I did it together. It was kinda embarrassing how the warm up was making me feel winded! Joey was so sweet though. He kept telling me how good I was doing, even when I couldn't finish some of the exercises. The advice I have gotten from numerous peeps on this workout is to keep going. Even when you can't finish something, keep pushing through. So, we did just that. Lots of giggling and sweating and limbs that refused to mimic Tony Horton's "X" perfection, but we finished the DVD. The dude leading the workout, Tony Horton, is a mega douche! Yes he is in amazing shape, but man he couldn't think he was more awesome if he tried! He always asks the other peeps training with him how many reps or what weight they're going go use, and then proceeds to say he'll do 1 more, just to show who "the man" is. Yuck! He provided great entertainment though by saying the funniest crap like, "my neck loves it!" while we were stretching, and kept doing "the X" with his arms during the entire workout, loves it!

Going from eating whatever I want pretty much, not smart I know, I felt like I was starving yesterday, eating just salad, fruit, protein shakes, and a "lovely" dinner of baked chicken, wild rice, and steamed green beans, delicious! The funny thing is, as much as I complained about what we ate, when I got in bed last night I felt good, I mean really good. Not filled with crap! The thing is, I know how to eat good, we all do, I just was really resisting the idea yesterday. I was like a crack head that didn't want to give up my good stuff, (ice cream!!!!) As unhappy as I am with this stranger's body that has taken residence in my skin, I didnt feel quite ready to change it. Joey was so encouraging though, and we are making those "3 easy payments," so I decided to shut my yapper and give it a go. And when I did weigh myself this morning, I lost 3 1/2 pounds already. So I guess the sore arms and legs are worth it.

Let's just hope my c-section stomach cooperates better with tonight's workout than it did last night. My stomach's weakness is seriously laughable! I was still able to do the "hotdog dance" for Riley this morning at the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I guess I can keep going :) Speaking of the little man, he has been doing great with his cereal the last couple days. The second night, he was up all night like I said, adjusting maybe?? But last night after 3 false starts for bed, he only got up once after we got in bed, so that was awesome! I think the more I try to figure out why he does what he does, the more he changes his "routine" and habits. Oh well! We make plans and God laughs, right? He's still so happy and smiley and didn't cry for Joey yesterday, so I guess we're moving in the right direction.

Stay tuned as I stumble through this P90X journey, and hopefully begin to whittle off some of this baby excess, and maybe replace it with a bit of self confidence that has been lost, yikes bikes!
