So my house is quiet again. We've had oodles of family staying with us on and off for the last few weeks, which don't get me wrong has been fun :) it's just a lot of work doing laundry, picking up and cleaning house, and of course providing sparkling conversation ;) I'm glad to have just me, Riley, and the housewives of New Jersey home tonight. Joey's of course working tonight, such a good daddy!!, but he got to spend some good time with the boy today, so I'm happy.
Speaking of the boy, we had his 4 month checkup with Dr. Carrie yesterday and it went great! (WARNING!! Mega mommy bragging ahead!) He weighs 14 lbs. 10.5 oz, which still only puts him in the 43rd percentile (peanut), his height is 25.75 in, (78th percentile, big jump from last visit when he was in the 16th percentile), and his dome piece is 16.75 in, 57th percentile :) Most importantly, all of his growing curves are moving up and everything else checked out great! He had 3 shots, :(, but he did great and stopped crying as soon as I picked him up. I'm super stoked that the doc wants us to start him on rice cereal now! She thinks the cereal will hopefully make him a bit more satisfied, so maybe he'll go back to his better sleeping days, (they seem so long ago, I almost forgot they actually existed :)). So we'll see on Sunday night how he sleeps, (I'm waiting till then to do food because she said to feed him in the late morning at first and I won't be home in the morning till then; work, ugh!)
During my pregnancy I did lots of research on making your own baby food. I'm not as mommy-awesome as my cousin Breeze who does cloth diapers, nursing only for her son River, (yes she's a hardcore hippie :), who has never had a bottle, not even breast milk, and he just turned 1, impressive ...and unrealistic for me ...and probably most people, organic clothing, compost piles, and makes homegrown organic baby food for her son. So she's the Godiva of moms, I'm just trying to be a Snickers. I do nurse Riley, (which we got really blessed with him being a great nurser from the get go, not everyone is as lucky :(, every muffin is so different!), and I'm going to attempt making his baby food, eeeehhh! I've been reading/studying the book 'Top 100 Baby Purees' for ideas. I'm excited, but realistic. I do work pretty much full-time, so I'm going to try and get my baby food making on, as long as it makes sense. I'm not trying to win a medal, I'm just trying to keep my little dude, my big dude, and maybe if there's an extra minute in the day ;), me happy.
So i didn't get a chance to get out to Retro Bakery the other day, too far away, but I did take Haley, Avery, Hannah, and Riley to Grandma Daisy's for ice cream and treats. So fun and so yummy! Joey has been designing their online shopping cart for months, so I've been dreaming of their sweets for awhile! With P90X just days away, I'm scared, pray for me, no more ice cream, yikes bikes!
