So sorry my friends that I haven't blogged in a week! Busy, busy! We are currently in week 2 of our P90X journey and let me just say that it is much easier this week; thank goodness :) However I did twist my knee 20 minutes into the yoga disc last night and had to sit out the rest of it, or rather lay out, in our bed with Riley (child's pose, heehee :)). For some reason this yoga disc is the crappiest for both of us; it's our everest! My knee does feel better this morning, so I'm going to attempt to double up on discs today, wish me luck!
For those who are wanting a total body change, I highly recommend this plan. The workout is hard, and honestly everyday before starting it I feel like running away from home, but after doing it, you feel great!! Combined with the super healthy "clean eating" that we're doing, you can't help but see results. I am down 11lbs. already and week 2 isn't even over yet!!!! How fun is that!? I'm obviously not where I want to be yet, but clothes are already not as tight and my c-section shelf of fat isn't so shelfy! :)
I have also been challenged this week with worrying about my milk supply. No Vons isn't out of milk, my left breast seems to be. Granted I have always favored the right because when I pull Riley into bed to nurse that's the side that puts him safely in the middle of our bed. I bought an herbal supplement called Mother's Milk from Whole Foods that I read about online. It's supposed to double your milk supply if you've slowed down. I noticed more on the left side this morning, but when I tried to pump later, just a little bit came out. So who knows?? I'm giving it a shot. I hope this isn't the end of breastfeeding for me and the little man, my right side is still behaving as it should, so stay tuned. I don't think either of us are ready to be done yet. I did read that you can nurse from just one side, so we'll see. He is eating rice cereal and carrots, (homemade :), sorry to toot my own horn), now, so hopefully everything will shake out ok.
Joey's birthday weekend went really well. We're both 29 now, dang! One more year of our twenties, crazy! It was fun Sunday. Joey went to the lake with friends (I was unable to find a babysitter, so I stayed home with Riley and cleaned and cooked and nursed :)) Then we had a few friends over for chicken tacos and bread pudding and drinks, (just one small margarita for me :) I don't want to upset the breast milk fairy). All in all, a great weekend! I am craving a date night with my husband! I always see people post that they're out for date night and I'm so jealous because most nights it's just me and the baby, which I love, but I'm mega missing my husband lately! He is just working like a maniac and since we're watching Riley sans babysitters, we're just passing in the wind:( We'll have to make a point to go out, just us, soon!!!! We've only been out together for 3 hours, my mother's day date, since having Riley, crazy right?! It's on my list.
I'm kinda sad that we're not going to California anymore this month to visit :( It was just too complicated trying to figure out flights and taking off work, ugh! Missing my California peeps in a bad way! Hopefully we'll be able to reschedule sooner rather than later.
Well, gonna put the babe to bed and since it's taken me this morning and tonight to finish this blog, I better quit before I end up needing tomorrow to write more. Stay tuned for hopefully more P90X progress and a date night, ????, yikes bikes!
