Busy busy bees!

So I totally stink!! I have just been gogogo this past week. We are officially through 3 weeks of P90X, wahooooo! We start our new routine tomorrow. Kinda crappy because it entails a lot more yoga, but no ab ripper x this week, so that rocks! I still dread the workout every day, but at least I can get through them now. And while I do feel much better and my pants aren't as tight, I haven't lost a single pound all week! :( Joey keeps saying the scale doesn't matter and muscle weighs more than fat, blah blah blah! I know all those things, but I'm a girl dammit! I want the scale to say better things to me man! I probably need to stop weighing myself more than once a week, but you know how it is. When you're this obsessed with a new workout/eating plan, you want to see results! It's funny when you think about it. Being on a diet makes you more obsessed with food then when you're not on a diet. You're always thinking about what you can eat, when you get to eat next, and mostly what you wish you could eat. Ah, such is life!

I have been having lots of fun making Riley's first foods. We have now worked our way through all of the orange foods. We started with just rice cereal mixed with breast milk, (I tried mixing it with formula once and he acted like I was shoveling poop in his mouth, lesson learned :)). And then we moved on to carrots, then sweet potatoes, my fav, then butternut squash, and baby oatmeal instead of rice cereal. It is so fun watching how fast he learned how to move the food to the back of his mouth. He's a genius I tell you!!! :) I have rationalized the time spent making my own baby food by factoring in: 1) the cost, $1.50 for a bag of carrots that makes about 28 servings or 2 jars of carrots for $1.50, 2) freshness and lack of preservatives, 3) pure flavor and ingredients, no sneaky add-ins, 4) fun!, 5) makes me feel like a good mommy. Now please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that those who feed their babies jarred food are bad by any means. I just have one muffin and I have the time, so I made it a goal for myself. I hope I'll always be able to do it, but who knows. I also love to cook, so this is merely an extension of my love of trying new recipes.

Thankfully the supplement I'd been trying, More Milk Plus, worked like a charm! My left kenicke is back in the game! I was really getting worried there for a minute. I just wasn't mentally prepared to stop nursing. As hard as it is at times, I feel like I'm going to have a tough time letting go of nursing Riley. It is my fav time, especially when he's really sleepy to just stare at him and rub his little head and he holds my hand or just rubs my skin, it's just so special to me. Man I sound like a sappy hallmark movie. I'm just loving watching our little man grow up, but I'm in no hurry for him to stop being a baby.

Speaking of growing up, he's doing so much fun stuff! Besides all of his food changes, which I'm sure you know means "real" poop now, yuck!, he's rolling over and wants to be sitting up or standing while you hold him. He is all boy! I've seen little baby girls just sit and coo, not Riley :) He wants to move, and kick, and talk. He's so active. But his teeth that haven't quite popped out yet are bothering him so much! Thank goodness for Sophie! I feel like he's going to chew her head off sometimes :) Teething tablets seem to help a lot, but I feel so bad for his little drooly butt sometimes!

No date night yet for Joey and me, b-o-o-h-o-o! Hopefully soon, but probably not. Too much work and shenanigans. My sister Melissa is coming to visit for the weekend on Friday, which is awesome! This will be her first time meeting Riley. It will also be her first time away from her daughter/my niece Madison. She's a little nervous about that, but I kow she'll be ok. Madison is almost 4 1/2 years old, so she'll be cool with her daddy :) Can't wait to have some sister time. I'm also trying out an adult women's ballet class tomorrow night, so i'll keep you posted. Lots going on this week, yikes bikes!
